File Attribute Changer

As the name so adequately points out, this is an application that will change a file’s attributes. And more to the point, the application will change the file name, timestamp, and attributes. Of course, it can change these for multiple files – it can batch process files and change the aforementioned attributes. So if you load multiple image files and choose to change their file name, you can batch rename those images.

File Attribute Changer will work on a PC powered by the following Windows editions: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2012, 2008R2, 2008. To get started with File Attribute Changer you will not have to go through an installation process. You will just have to download a 1.4MB archive, extract its contents, and run the File Attribute Changer executable.

The application’s interface is divided into four panels. The one from the upper right lists the files you loaded; the original files to the left, the files with changed attributes to the right. Select a file from the list and details will be presented in the General Info panel in the lower right hand side. The panel located in the upper left hand side allows you to create tasks: choose what attribute to be changed, select what to be replaced, pick what it will be replaced with. And last but not least, the panel in the lower left hand side lists all the tasks you created.

After you create one or more tasks, File Attribute Changer will use them to change file names, timestamps, and attributes. Say you have several images that are called IMG1, IMG2, IMG3, and so on. Choose to change the file name, enter “IMG” in the “Find What” box, enter “FindMySoft” in the “Replace With” box, and add the task to the list. With a simple mouse click you can then run the task and batch rename the files you loaded.
